Good grief, it’s embarrassing how inaccurate your article is on so many points and it’s funny how you take a swipe at someone like Doug Wead who has actually done something significant with his life, including the setting up of mercy corps. What contribution have you made to the human race, besides hiding behind your blog and making scathing attacks on people. You wouldn’t have the balls to build a networking business anyway.

Reminds me of a running gag in Sprague deCamp’s novel Lest Darkness Fall, with a modern archaeologist thrown back in time to Gothic Rome constantly encountering members of various Christian sects, all of whom explain how terribly persecuted they are, with the Goths who rule Rome denying them their religious freedom.

“But,” says Martin Padway, “I thought the Goths allowed anyone to practice whatever religion they choose.”

Yes, everyone answers – and they won’t let those of us who have the true faith suppress all the heretics who don’t agree with us.

I just read the Amazon reviews. I plan to stay well away from the book, which apparently retcons Spenser’s past to the point that, for instance, at the end of the bear incident, instead of taking the underage Spenser to a bar and buying him whiskey, his father takes him home and he and Spenser’s uncles have whiskey and Spenser gets a coke.

There's a new article by Doug Wead in Russia Today (http://www.rt.com) ... I think it's very derogatory (although it could pass as a parody I think it's a political media strategy used by pundits like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh to invent or politicize unlikely scenarios and rumors that are designed to undermine the presidency of Barack Obama.

I remember this speach titled “I give you this opportunity” which included references to how young (compared to other forms of government) democracy is, and that there was a realization that it may not last. Recent U S government actions give me concern that he may in fact be right. It seems that power over the masses is an is an inevitable struggle that the people must persist in resisting. I’m not religious, but I hope we are’nt relegated to a socialist society, I work hard for my meager existence and would like to keep as much of it as I earn.

Are you aware of any… “goofiness” with PAD’s site being displayed in Firefox? I run Firefox 3.0.8 on my desktop at home (where I type this now) and everything looks fine. I’m running 3.5.1 on my work laptop, and Peter’s site is a jumble of black, black, more black and a little purple for headers.
